Laser prostatectomy is a new minimally invasive surgical procedure for treatment of enlarged prostate. It uses laser light to vaporise and destroy the enlarged prostate tissue. It thus removes the obstruction without much bleeding and brings immediate relief from the symptoms. It has fewer side effects, shorter catheterization and quicker recovery than traditional transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP).
Green Light Laser
Green light laser is a type of laser (532nm Wavelength) used for laser prostatectomy. It treats prostate enlargement by vaporisation of the prostate tissue. Its clinical outcome is similar to TURP with fewer complications and lower rate of sexual side effects postoperatively.
